As part of Kent County Council’s planned works to upgrade this very well used bridleway we were invited to be involved at the planning stage for the design of two entrance way structures. These structures were to replace the existing metal railings which acted as a chicane preventing motorbikes accessing the path.
ARC created a scheme centred around the locally abundant Kentish Ragstone. The design incorporated planters at both ends of this stretch of the bridleway. These are now planted with fragrant herbs. Some 6 tonne of stone, 6 tonne of sand, 1 tonne of cement and 3 tonne of top soil went into the building of these structures! Not to mention gallons of mint tea to warm us up during the snow showers!
