“We are creative explorers devoted to fully understanding your message, and telling the story to others”
Two award winning companies specialising in tourism, interpretation, education and leisure joined in 1997 to form ARC Creative Design Limited. The ARC team has worked together for over 20 years on a wide variety of projects both in the UK and worldwide so we can offer you loads of experience… and a good deal of common sense.
…but specialist interpretive designers. At ARC our creative team re-enforces creative lead design with solid interpretive thinking and practice. All our work uses a ‘layered’ approach which will communicate your message/story to the widest possible visitor demographic and age range in the most engaging way possible. The result is a solution that will be more than a just a cosmetic treatment of the information you want to share with your visitors.
Because, if you choose ARC Creative as your interpretive design team, you will never be fobbed off by a salesman or account holder but will get to deal with the people actually working on your project.
The creative team is keen to be involved as much as possible in development meetings with your team, helping stimulate ideas and identify possible opportunities as they arise. Of course the client has the final say, but we find this approach delivers results everyone feels they have a real stake in.
You will also discover that we are full of great ideas and are easy to work with!
Get in touch, we’d love to hear about your project.
Chris is responsible for business management of our company. As Business Director, he is vital in co-ordinating and implementing our projects. He will be the first point of contact for communication. Chris's years of experience within the printing and exhibition industries also enables him to have a practical input into the specification, production and delivery of our designs.
Tom, our Creative Director, has vast experience in the interpretation and heritage field. He has also worked in the exhibition industry. Tom comes up with concepts for displays, sculptures and interactives as well as acting in an advisory capacity as Creative Director in various areas as our projects develop. Tom is responsible for all the design output from ARC.
“I’m constantly surprised by the variety of projects that ARC asks me to be involved with. I never know whats around the corner!”
“The work I produce with the ARC team is always a break from the norm and their enthusiasm is infectious”
“The diversity of projects that ARC is involved in always means that the illustrative parts can be quite challenging.”
John has over 40 years of illustrative experience and is responsible for many of the illustrations and concepts on our projects. When ideas start to get thin on the ground, John will often come in from ‘left field’ with some super creative response to the brief, continuously surprising us with his creative genius.
Jason is a talented and creative woodworker and is charged with bringing our concepts to life using a variety of different timbers and techniques. Jason runs a successful furniture making and restoring business and this means that Jason’s eye for detail is keen indeed and he often has clever suggestions for a different approach to resolve any particular construction issue.
Phil has worked for twenty five years within the heritage industry as both an illustrator and designer. This makes him very well qualified to suggest options for the presentation of ideas from the conceptual, practical and aesthetic point of view. Philip has produced many of the ARC illustrations over the years.
“Working with ARC means we can offer practical solutions to the main creative thrust of the projects. We enjoy working with such a driven team”
“Since having my baby daughter it has been great to get back into work. The guys at ARC are all really friendly and it has been a joy to work with them all”
Lee, from Depford Sheet Metal, Working closely with his three sons, Dan, Simon and Jake have produced some very complicated and impressive work for us. They are stainless steel specialists and are a constant source for real world advice on how we can achieve the best results from our concepts.
Sylwia is the most attractive face of ARC! She helps keep us all on track, answering the phone and performing all manner of useful tasks that often go un-noticed. She is more than capable when it comes to helping out on installations too.
We take the time to learn everything we can about what you do.We aim to create a solid visual identity to ensure that you can rely on your brand to attract the right clientele. It will be tailored and unique to you.
Our creative process: where our thinking is made visual. We want to make our clients and visitors react and find our creative ideas memorable. We are different- most certainly not just a design agency!
From 3D maps to quirky birds-eye views of towns and parks, we produce beautiful, exciting and colourful drawings that are functional and easy to understand.
What makes us fairly unusual in this industry is that we not only offer design and consultancy, but we also make and install most of the products ourselves.
This means that we have to get it right. Our stuff works!
ARC Creative helps people to make sense of the environment and their heritage. We like to be provocative. We like to dig deep into your subject. We like to reveal your story in a creative way that relates to the visitor.
By combining our extensive knowledge of landscape design and build, we are able to offer a wide range of services from creating a concept garden to constructing master schemes.
We create and produce our own 3 dimensional artworks using materials such as metal, timber and stone. From gardens to public byways, visitor centres to parks and entrances, we create and build simple, meaningful and functional sculptures.
The team at ARC has extensive experience in designing, building and installing distinctive displays that are visually interesting and informative.
From simple functional prints to 10 & 20 year guaranteed robust and often sculptural signage, our resources can cater for all your needs.
ARC Creative has designed, built and installed differing themes in exciting Visitor Centres throughout the country. Gateway features, interactive pizzas, firing cannon and a vibrant floor illustration of over 100 square metres: we pride ourselves on creating exciting bespoke experience for all our clients.
Our experience with ARC was an excellent digital compliment of a traditional art piece, a project requiring research and study of the siege of Rochester Castle 1215 producing a 6 x3 metres mural depicting the undermining of the castle tower. This piece produced an instant recognition of the siege and capturing that moment in time providing knowledge to thousands of school children and visitors alike.
Andrew Freeman – Museum Operations Manager, The Guildhall Museum
I always find the team very enthusiastic, easy to work with, hugely capable, talented and most of all, ready for a challenge. I took a photograph of a bench I saw on holiday in Latvia and they managed to re-create it from that holiday snap! I would have no hesitation in recommending them to you and I am happy to discuss this with any potential clients if required.
Laura Pinkham – Grounds Maintenance Manager – Shepway District Council

Well done ARC! The work you have done for us in here in Lincolnshire is just simply splendid. The commitment shown by the installation team was staggering even when several 20hr days were called for! Furthermore we would just like to say how much we have enjoyed working with you all on the creative process leading up to completion of the project.
